Thanksgiving Feast « Thread Started on Aug 9, 2009, 9:41am »
Professor Dumbledore entered into the Great Hall, and took his seat at the High Table, and waved his hand, and the food for the feast magically appeared.

Justin strode into the Great Hall more than ready to be a quarter of an hour late. Unfortunately for him, everyone else had been given the correct starting time, not the "if you want Justin to arrive on time tell him the event starts 30 minutes earlier than it actually does" time. The plan, it seemed, had worked, but as a consequence he was alone. Well, not completely alone as the Headmaster was already sat at the head of the hall. Justin slowed his stride to a fast dirge, checked his wristwatch and cleared his throat. The noise seemed to echo in the empty hall, accompanied only by the rhythmic clicks of his shoes against the cold stone floor.
"Good mo... erm. Good evening, professor," he said, mentally scolding himself for not knowing the time of day. He was about at the Gryffindor table at this point and was only too happy to have a seat as close to the main door as possible. After all, the food was the same all along the table.

Ruby walked in at her usual slow pace. She sat down and started into space, coming up with some new invention, spell idea or story line. She drummed her short, bitten nails on the table top and hummed quietly.
Dean: I know what you're thinking: Why did it have to be clowns! Sam: Gimme a break. Dean: You didn't think I remembered, did you. Come on, man, you still bust out crying when you see Ronald McDonald on the television. Sam: At least I'm not afraid of flying. Dean: Planes crash! Sam: And apparently clowns kill.

Leonie walked in to the great hall slowly, very, very tired. She had been up all night, thinking. ''Good Evening Professor. How are you?'' Leonie said. She walked back to her seat on the ravenclaw table, staring into space and thinking some more.

Charlie Camden raked a hand through her bright red hair, her head pounding. She had been working on one of her essays for well over two hours and had been fighting a headache the whole time. She stood and dropped her books into her bag. Slipping out of the Common Room, she ran down the stairs, the delicious smells assaulting her nose. She pushed open the doors to the Great Hall, waving at Professor Dumbledore as she walked to the Ravenclaw table. She dropped into a seat next to a fifth year girl. She glanced at the girl, her brown eyes taking in her features. "Leonie, right?" she asked.

''Umm..yeah.'' Leonie smiled at the girl with bright red hair, it was redder than hers...but then again, her hair was on the auburn side. She wondered how the girl knew her name, probably because she was in ravenclaw as well, and Leonie was the ravenclaw prefect. ''What's your name? I've seen you around in school before. I think it was Tay who told me about you.'' Leonie smiled. ''Your in his year aren't you?'' Leonie asked, interested. Leonie's bright blue eyes moved from the girls face to the food on the table, her stomach was rumbling like crazy. She took three sausages, and took some bread.

Ruby continued to think, staring into space. Her imagination got the better of her and her mind began to race, a light formed brightly in front of her green eyes and then faded. She blinked, and looked around. She looked to be incredulous. She pushed a few stray blonde tendrils away from her face and stared back into space again, imagining she was flying over the school instead of being trapped here, being bored to death by another lame, pointless day, another boring feast.

Charlie nodded at the girl's questions. "Yeah, I am. I'm Charlie, she said, smiling at the mention of Taylor. She picked up some bread, eating it slowly. "You're a fifth year, right?" she glanced at the girl. That seemed about right. She looked to be only a little younger than Charlie was. "Do you know him well?" she asked, turning to the girl. Her brown eyes took in the girl. She was quite pretty, with her auburn hair and bright blue eyes.

''Um... you could say that.'' she giggled, ''he's my best friend, and he has told me a lot about you.'' she grinned, showing perfect white teeth. Taylor had told Leonie about Charlie - and to face facts, she was a tad jealous they got on so well. But she was happy for Taylor. ''Hey, you know he told me something, but promise not to tell anyone. He really really likes you. PLEASE don't tell him I told you or tomorrow I will be found dead on my bed.'' She laughed.

Charlie turned slightly pink. "He has?" she asked, smiling slightly, looking down at her plate. The fact that she had had a crush on him for months was starting to show in her expressions. She quickly masked it, though the blush remained. Her head shot up at her admission, the pink on her cheeks turning dark red. She stared at the girl for a moment, trying to decide if she was just kidding. She finally decided to trust her. Go out on a limb, Charlotte! Live a little! the little voice at the back of her mind said. It sounded an awful lot like her aunt's. She was the only person who called her by her first name. Everyone else opted for Charlie. "You really think so?" she asked, looking back at her plate. Her hair fell in a curtain across her face, quite effectively hiding her grin and bright blush from the other Ravenclaw.

She laughed loudly, it was obvious she liked him. ''I'm one hundred percent sure, honey.'' she grinned. ''And I'm also pretty sure you like him too. I'm good at guessing things, it's kind of like i can read minds or feelings really. Things like those are so obvious to me.'' She grinned again. ''So, have you been talking to him recently? what has he said to you??'' She smiled.

Charlie nodded, the blush slowly leaving her cheeks. She smiled at the younger girl, glad to have an inside source. "Well, you definitely have a talent for it, I'll give you that. I've seen him a few times recently, having classes with him and all. But we've both been really busy lately so I haven't gotten much of a chance to talk with him." She would definitely have to do something about that soon. She made a mental note to make sure she didn't tell Taylor about anything that the Ravenclaw had said to her.
